This painting is another reference to the Yorkshire Dales, in particular Malham Cove and memories of my first visit to see this spectacular feature of the region. It was a misty winter’s day and the vertical wall of the Cove only became visible when a few yards from it. In the painting I tried to capture the mysteriousness of the visit; focusing on the stream that flows from it and the Cove itself is represented by just a few marks in the background.
Based on the positive feedback I received when the painting was exhibited I decided to have a limited number of prints made.
